This entry level diving qualification is the most popular diving course in the World. PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) courses are recognized in over 5000 dive centres and resorts in more than 170 countries worldwide and are generally considered the industry standard. Your PADI Open Water Diver certification is your passport to the underwater world.
As with all PADI courses, you need to be reasonably fit and healthy and have completed the required medical form before you can begin. Minimum age requirements are 15 years for PADI Open Water Diver and 10 years for PADI Junior Open Water Diver, there is no maximum age limit (I knew a lady in Australia who qualified as a PADI Open Water Diver at 73, she also went on to do her PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course)!
Once you have completed your PADI Open Water Diver/Junior Open Water Diver course, you will be able and confident to dive to a depth of 18 meters , although Juniors will need to be accompanied by a PADI professional or a certified parent or guardian.
We will begin with an introduction to your PADI professional team and a tour of our facilities, followed by a knowledge building session in the classroom where you will learn about the equipment and some basic theory. After this, we can get wet! A confined water skills session will take place in either a carefully chosen beach location or at our local pool. Following this, 5 Open Water Dives must be completed to gain certification.
All equipment and materials are provided; all you need to bring is your swimwear and a towel.
